Statement:

"It's important for me to experience the world at a deeper level by penetrating the veil of the senses. Through an immersive process the essence, beauty and the pure form of an idea are gradually revealed to me. The emerging awareness flows into my artwork imbuing it with a higher reality. To achieve this awareness in my creative process, I go through three stages: imagination, inspiration and intuition. When exploring an idea for a sculpture I draw and make clay models of it, in order to saturate my imagination with its various aspects and visual qualities. Going a step further in a listening space, I engage in an inner conversation with the emerging artistic qualities of the initial idea, finding inspiration in them. At some point in this process I become one with the artwork, in an intuitive moment. To feel as it feels, being in the space as it is, finding its individuality resound in me.

The point when I feel myself one with the object also denotes an artistic breakthrough. This intuitive breakthrough allows for simple yet daring final changes to the sculpture. This threefold approach invites a discovery of qualities, which I believe radiate a healthy energy in our lives and in our environment through a work of art.  "
